United Jain Center (UJC) Category Returns to JAB 2027 !!
Following the overwhelming response to the United Jain Center (UJC) category during Jain Academic Bowl (JAB) 2025 in Chicago, we are delighted to announce its return at the upcoming JAB Tournament, to be held during the JAINA Convention in July 2027 in Dallas, Texas. 🎉

The JAB Tournament brings together teams from Pathshalas across various Jain centers, fostering both learning and friendly competition in Jain Studies.
To further expand this opportunity and ensure greater participation among young Jains, the UJC category will once again provide a platform for students who may not otherwise have access to compete.
Who can join? ✅
- ✅ You’re in a Jain center Pathshala in North America that is not participating in JAB. OR
- ✅ You don’t have a Jain center Pathshala within 50 miles of where you live.
This initiative is a unique opportunity for youth across North America to engage in JAB, deepen their understanding of Jainism, and connect with peers nationwide. Participation in the UJC category is limited, and team selection will be based on application review and virtual assessment.
Selected participants will train and collaborate virtually in preparation for the tournament. Depending on interest and qualification, teams may compete in Beginner, Junior, or Senior categories.
Ultimately, every participant stands to gain not only through competition, but through the knowledge they acquire, the friendships they build, and the joy of being part of a shared learning experience.
How it works 🚀
- 📝 Register (spots are limited).
- 💻 We review applications + do a quick virtual assessment.
- 🎯 Selected students practice virtually and get tournament ready.
- 🏅 Compete in Beginner / Junior / Senior (based on age & qualification).
- ✈️ Then compete in person at JAINA Convention 2027 in Dallas, Texas.
What do families need to commit to? 👨👩👧👦
- 🙋 Parents volunteer during virtual practices and choose one coach from the parent group.
- 📏 Students must meet age limits and team requirements per the JAB Tournament rules (see downloads page).
- 🗓️ Attend all scheduled virtual practice sessions.
- 🏟️ Attend the JAB tournament in person at JAINA Convention 2027.
